For I Am Love

As darkness falls I am left to sit with what is.
I cannot hide from it anymore.
I cannot make excuses for the pain or pretend it doesn’t exist deep within me.
I must embrace it, for nothing else can make it beautiful.
I must accept it, for nothing else will move it.
I must forgive it, for nothing else will give it wings.
I must not hold onto it, for that would be a slow death of my soul.
I will not quiver in your presence, for that leaves me powerless.
I will speak with thunder in my voice, you will hear me.
I will know and trust I am protected and safe from your poisonous bite.
For what you claim to be love is control.
I do not belong to you, a mere possession for your taking, to be used at your convenience.

I am a soul belonging only to the Universe.

The sky, my father.
The earth, my mother.

For I Am Love.

So indeed, I must let you go.

Letting go

You were everything I never knew existed.
Maybe it was all an illusion.
Was it you or just the thought of you I was holding onto.
You haunt me.
I can feel you in my head, in my skin.
Every part of me calls out to you.
Silent whispers so you won’t hear.
I don’t want to hide but what choice do I have.
Your heart is not mine.

Signs from the Universe

The wind on my cheek like a gentle caress.
I’m missing your hands.
The warmth of your touch.

The stars wink at me while I gaze upon their beauty.
I’m missing the fire in your eyes.
The blaring heat of your stare.

I listen to the leaves dancing across the grass.
I’m missing your voice.
The gentle whisper of your desires.

The thunder shakes the ground.
I miss the beat of your heart.
The strength of your love.

The rain reminds me of your lips.

Her untold story { Poem w/trigger words }

Her shackles had gone unnoticed even to her for a long time.
She had been bound to the pain deep within.
The need to escape, to finally be free overwhelmed her existence.
She had never stood tall before,  not knowing if she had a right.

She prayed for Grace to fall over her.

Still hurting and angry but she didn’t want to hurt those who had hurt her the most.

Fear had screamed in her face, whipped her flesh, belittled her existence and left bruises and  scars no one ever saw.
It stripped her of her innocence,  her worth, her love and joy.
Fear said I love you, called her endearing names then used her love, her body and her heart for its greed and power.
And she eventually gave it all in the need for love.

Broken and bound she wanted to fight back.
Gently, with compassion and forgiveness now.
The thing she wanted and needed most now, more than ever was the very thing that terrified her.

To fly.

The sky called out to her; spread your wings.
Trust me I’ll catch you.

But fear was waiting in the stillness, with a smile on its face, a twinkle in its eyes and arms wide open.
It had lured her back many times before.
Saying everything she had needed to hear and the gentle embrace she had craved.

But the illusion was gone now.
She knew the truth.

And this is the day she decided to fly.

Their Love Story

There was something about her he couldn’t quite put his finger on. He loved her smile, her laugh and the way she made him feel when they were together.
It was intoxicating, magnetic, something not of this world.
They didn’t just look into each others eyes, they got lost in each others souls.
Hungry for each other.
It was terrifying yet beautiful, the love they shared. It was magnificent.
Although apart, they always found a way back to each other.
Their time apart was often painful. Each was filled with consuming thoughts of the other.
They lived inside one another, like it was in their DNA. Their hearts spoken for with little room for anyone else to enter.
She trusted him, felt safe with him, protected by him. Something she had never felt before.
As the years passed by their love grew stronger but it wasn’t time yet.
Neither of them knew if they’d ever be together again this lifetime, both held onto hope.
She felt his love, it was always with her.
It moved her, encouraged her, filled and consumed her.
He felt her too.
Reminders of one another would flood their minds, igniting their need.
Trying to find peace apart, they would live in each others dreams, for in this moment it was all they had.
Forever in love, forever in each others hearts, always connected by their souls.
